An Investigation of the Impact of Compost Tea Applications on Turf Quality and Soil Microbial Activity

Abstract This study investigated the effect of compost tea applications on turf quality and soil microbial activity. Evaluations turfgrass were based The National Turfgrass Evaluation Program's guidelines while samples analyzed for chemical attributes Four sites treatments included: 1) a drench application with irrigation, 2) no 3) 4) nor irrigation. Fifteen observations from each treatment collected pretest data. Then, post-test data after additional seasonal test period over course one year four plots. For plots, site which received regular irrigation significantly higher ratings, improved ratings beyond that No differences found in populations given application. While results provided evidence value to overall aesthetics, more research is recommended regarding beneficial turf. Species used this study: Bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon) L. Pers.
